Hannah & Randy’s Elegant Elopement Surprise

Real Borrowed Charm Wedding

“The day I met you, I began to forget a life without you.”

Never have I heard a quote that described a couple better. Randy & Hannah’s lives truly began when they met. From how they met, through the sweetest proposal story, even the secret parts, we knew we wanted to be a part of their special day. Once they shared their epic surprise, such a romantic idea, we could hardly keep “sign me up” from tumbling out of our mouths. They were planning a secret elopement ceremony in Breckenridge, Colorado, with only their parents, very few friends, their photographer Robyn Icks and videographer Vow of the Wild present. Uniquely them, they wanted the focus to be what their love meant to them, in their own words, on their own time, and in front of their most important people.

Their intimate, secret elopement ceremony in Colorado was perfect for this couple; their first trip together was in Colorado, so it only made sense to them that they be married in such a special place. Making the most of their elopement Hannah and Randy captured memories through an adventure session, pre-ceremony where Hannah wore a beautiful flowy gown from Chantilly Couture.

When it was time to exchange their I do’s, the ceremony was held on the beautiful balcony of the gorgeous A frame home they were renting, with a breath-taking view overlooking the mountains. Randy wore a smart, gray suit he custom designed himself with Q Clothier, and had the most sentimental touch in his boutonniere, willow tree accents from their own back yard as a memory to his father. Hannah, stunning, wore a beautiful strapless gown from Bella Rose Bridal with the most stunning delicate lace cape from BHLDN. The love and laughter captured these in this moment is as a real as spending time with them and seeing their joy for yourself.

Post ceremony, the couple ventured high up into the mountains to capture even more incredible photos & video of their wedding day & celebration which at the time, was still secret.

While Randy & Hannah spent time in Colorado, capturing their wedding and celebrating their marriage, we were working back here in Oklahoma wrapping up the final details for the “Wedding” their guests were planning to attend. Randy & Hannah wanted their guests to experience a night to remember and surprise them with their exciting news. From the beautiful Kahoy Studios farmhouse tables running the length of the room for their family and friends, to the exquisite lounges where memories could be made, every detail was covered. Randy & Hannah knew their guests, and knew them well. They provided the most incredible atmosphere where everyone could celebrate, relax and enjoy themselves. What their guests didn’t know, was that they were actually coming to a reception celebration, kicked off by the incredible work that Vow of the Wild had furiously created as a surprise announcement of their union.

Upon entering, guests were greeted with The Capsule Card table, in lieu of a guest book. We loved this idea, and how this space was so intentional. Guests were invited to write down advice, memories, notes, and wisdom for the couple to open as their marriage continued to mature and grow over the years. Cards for anniversaries, loss, happy times and sad, no milestone was left unturned, and a beautiful time capsule was created for Randy & Hannah to enjoy again and again.

Hosting a “parlor wedding” Randy & Hannah made sure there was a place for everyone with lovely blue agate place-cards, hand-lettered by the bride herself at each person’s place setting atop Kahoy Studios farmhouse tables. A place for laughter, a place for fun, and a place to enjoy the amazing Revolve Pizza, (a place they frequented whilst dating) and a cold drink from Amber’s Bartending Connection. With their guests (and vendors) in mind, they created a place of comfort and celebration to create memories.

The most thoughtful people, Hannah & Randy meticulously made sure guests were amongst friendly faces, and surrounded by beauty. The Wild Mother created the most beautiful floral installation down their stunning farmhouse tables with bud vases, moss covered candles, beautiful greens and over the top details. The beautiful wood tables and perfect blooms offset the industrial walls and enhanced the natural light pouring through the windows, and as dusk approached, candles set the mood for a romantic and fun evening.

At the head of their beautiful tables was the most incredible installation floral featuring trimmings from the couple’s own willow tree by The Wild Mother. Stunning, this work of art crawled up the walls of their historic venue, framing a place where a ceremony could take place. Rather than a ceremony, as most guests were expecting, we debuted the most beautiful and emotional video by Vow of the Wild we have ever experienced, (and trust me, we have seen a few).

Watching from a secret place away from guests, the sweet couple was able to watch reactions, while reliving their wedding day, the day two became one. They then joined their guests in celebration of their exciting and for the guests, their unexpected union.

From the gorgeous cake by Andrea Howard Cakes, complete with mini donuts from Holy Rollers donuts, and all the sweet moments in between, together with Hannah & Randy, we created an inviting oasis for all the guests to enjoy. Pulling together pieces the venue offered, as well as many pieces of our collection, Hannah & Randy wanted to foster an atmosphere for every single guest to be able to relax in and enjoy.

Spread throughout the back of the venue, four lounge spaces were intentionally created for guests to share in one another’s company, whether that was simply catching up over conversation with a drink, or playing a fun game of Connect Four or Jenga.

Using pieces like our Ashton Tufted Sofa, the Mary settee, and our Queen Anne Chair, we created a welcoming warmth in such an industrial venue for guests to enjoy all evening long.

From beautiful Colorado, to industrial Oklahoma, there was nothing more special than seeing this love story and celebration unfold. Thank you, Hannah & Randy for trusting us to play a role in such an important and amazing day. We cherish you both!
