Ignite the Night – An Industrial Chic Real Wedding

by | Oct 29, 2019

Emily Skinner + Tyler Marley

A Real Borrowed Charm Wedding

Three of our favorite things: Jewel tones, Donuts, and the Marley’s (especially the Marley’s). Emily + Tyler held an intimate, industrial and romantic wedding in the Magnolia Room in Automobile Alley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma captured by our incredible photographer friend Sami Strong Co. Every detail of this wedding perfectly showcased the fun, excitable and adventurous personalities of the Bride and Groom, and truly created a night to remember.

Geodes and agates galore… not only did the wedding reception decor incorporate every element that Emily wanted, Emily and Tyler decided to include the natural-edged look to their invitations and every detail throughout the night. The beautiful jewel tones permeated throughout the night, in subtle touches from the tables, to their place setting, and dessert bar. Elegant & personal, their arrival, guests were greeted with various coffee + espresso choices crafted by Elemental Coffee, a beautiful view overlooking downtown, and delicious brunch catered by C2 Catering. Did we mention how much Emily + Tyler love a good brunch?

Our “Marley Geometric Arbor” was a show stopper when it came time for Tyler & Emily to tie the knot. Tony Foss Flowers created the most incredible floral backdrop, perfect for such a unique space, creating an easy-on-the-eyes statement piece. We love that this stunner was the most jaw-droppingly beautiful backdrop for the intimate ceremony, the couple, bridal party, and family portraits, and provided a backdrop for photos throughout the reception.

One of our favorite details we learned about these two while planning Emily and Tyler’s wedding was that our Groom Tyler collects whiskey of all sorts. Not just any whiskey… unusual and rare whiskey brides. A hobby that he takes so much pride in, Emily searched for months for the perfect bottle of whiskey as her wedding present, as it had to be something Tyler could not easily buy or would not necessarily look around for… and found it, The “Yamazaki Taste.” There is nothing sweeter than such a personal and thoughtful touch.

Another perfect touch to the wedding were the fun mirrors from Borrowed Charm that were flawlessly written by calligrapher Kiah Bailey. From helping guests find their reception seat easily to cute fun sayings on the bar menus, we love how unique these are and how personal they can be tailored to your big day.

Talk about the sweetest seat in the house! The most unique exposed brick wall found in the Magnolia Room made for the perfect backdrop to feature our Couple’s Sweetheart table comprised of our beautiful Winslow Table & our rich burgundy Leona Chairs. A stunning focal floral arrangement, and place settings, paired with gold candlestick holders & navy tapers and terrariums brought a little edge and candlelight to their table. We adore an intimate sweetheart table. If you are trying to decide which style of seating best suits you, read our blog about sweetheart tables +more for some insight on sweetheart seating, that will truly give you the best seat in the house.

Bringing Emily and Tyler’s jewel-toned romantic vibes to life was a breeze with Borrowed Charm rentals. We emphasized the use of navy, burgundy, shades of blue, blush, greens and a gold accent. Our Glass & Gold lanterns created a warm, candlelit environment with our Gold Modern Candelabra and Brass Candlesticks with navy tapers to tie it all together. Shall we never forget the element that tied it all together, beautiful and organic floral arrangements from Tony Foss Flowers. Using our new Wilder Farmhouse Tables & Bistro Chairs, we keep the industrial vibe the venue brought, but used elaborate place setting to embrace the elegance of the occasion.

To top off the evening, the guests were able to enjoy the most delicious, moist and fluffy geode cake customized and hand-crafted by Round House Bakery based out of Perkins, Oklahoma. Not only did it look incredible with the incredible geode detailing, but the flavors were out of this world. The deep navy and ocean blues against the sparkling gold created a statement that left guests fascinated and wanting to dig in!

We can’t get enough of the industrial-chic vibe of Automobile Alley here in the heart of Oklahoma City. The exposed brick, garage doors, caged bulb lights, and the deep burgundy rug all came together as the perfect background for Emily + Tyler. We love how versatile the scene is and how you can tailor the space to your vibe and tastes.

Emily + Tyler were straight up FUN to work with. It was easy to tell their day would be one full of love because they showed love to everyone they interacted with, from vendors, to guests, and to each other. I mean SWOON at the way they are looking at each other. It is a privilege to watch a group of people purposely come together with the intention of celebrating a couple that close to each of their hearts. It is so special every time to see our bride and groom being supported, encouraged, and rooted for by everyone around them.

Our girl, Sami Strong, captured their unique love story perfectly. This day will be one that is cherished and looked back on with wide eyes and a loving soul. They are life partners and workout partners (props to them for being the CrossFit inspo we need)! And they are parents to the two most precious Boston Terriers. We love not only getting to be a part of our couples’ big day, but more importantly getting to know them on a personal level and seeing their wedding, love and dreams come to life.

Emily + Tyler, we are so thankful to have been a part of your day of love and celebration. Congratulations again!
